Brace yourselves, Boston: Moving Day is coming! In case the hapless drivers with out-of-state plates weren't forewarning enough, September 1st is nigh and, with it, a hoard of students, their U-Hauls and the endless traffic they create throughout the city. There will be laughter; there will be tears; there will be at least one moving truck wedged under a bridge somewhere along Storrow Drive.
I can't say I'll miss it, but at least Lovesac is taking some of the pain out of moving with its latest product, the Sactional. Read on, because it's a game changer.
Claiming the hefty title of world's most moveable couch, the modular Sactional is made out of only base pieces and side pieces, which can be configured in thousands of ways completely without tools. (The term side piece is a bit of a misnomer, as these pieces also form the back of the couch.) Not only does the system make for easy carrying on moving day; it means that the Sactional can be reconfigured anew to fit any room. Want to move your L shape from right to left? Done! Moving to a bigger space? Just buy more pieces to add on. Changing up your style? No problem. Lovesac sells covers for the Sactional separately in 150+ machine-washable fabrics, and—unlike traditional slipcovers—they fit each piece of the sofa perfectly.
For young renters, the goal is to spend as little as possible on cheaply-made furniture that looks good for the next couple of years. Who wants to invest in a piece that may or may not fit in the homes we ultimately buy? But, with a lifetime guarantee, the Sactional is perfectly positioned to go from student apartment living to home ownership and beyond. Could this change the way we think about "fast furniture?" End the days of buying futons for good? I told you this was a game changer, didn't I?
