I've seen the previews on television for The Judge, starring Robert Downey Jr.and Robert Duvall, but little did I know that the backdrop of the soon-to-be-released film is a remarkable modern home in nearby Belmont, Mass.!
Located just a hop across the river from Boston, Copper House was designed by Charles Rose Architects and is the residence of the firm's principal, Charles Rose. Unbelievably, this house began its life as a vinyl-sided colonial, but Rose completely revamped the property in 2004, wrapping the original cedar box structure and adding glass and copper extensions. The result is a contemporary striking enough for the silver screen.
You can catch the Copper House in it's big-screen debut when The Judge opens in theaters this Friday.
