Sebastian Errazuriz, the designer behind those amazing 12 Shoes for 12 Lovers that you all seemed to love so much, has come out with a new mind-bending credenza that transforms from staid buffet to brilliant piece of deconstructed art furniture with a gentle push. Glass sidewalls provide a glimpse into the maple cabinet, but "opening" the sliding doors reveals an entirely different object within, one that seems to explode beyond the bounds of stability.

Aptly named Explosion, the cabinet will be a centerpiece of Sebastian Errazuriz: Look Again, the designer's first solo museum exhibition, which opens September 6 at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art. Check out more images of Explosion in its various forms after the jump.

In some kind of cruel twist of fate, I'll be travelling to Pittsburgh in just a couple of weeks, before the exhibit opens. (The Mr. wants to show me his old stomping grounds at Carnegie Mellon.) Not only will I be missing out on Explosion and 12 Shoes, but it seems I'll never get to see the epic Duck Lamp or Boat Coffin in person. Damn!
