I've already told you of my love for
all things mid-century modern, and if there's one place to experience the mix of sleek and kitsch that the era has wrought, it's Palm Springs. The California desert city is thought to have one of the highest concentrations of mid-century modern architecture in the U.S. and is now the subject of the
Palm Springs Mid-Century Modern Postcard Book by photographer
Dolly Faibyshev. (Yes, I'm recommending
yet another coffee table book to clutter up your living room.)
Presented as 30 colorful postcards perforated for easy removal, Faibyshev's photos feature individual homes, city shots, and such landmarks as Palm Springs City Hall, Elvis’ Honeymoon House and the Kaufmann House by Richard Neutra.

If you actually choose to mail these beauties, you're far more generous than I. I'll be keeping my copy intact thankyouverymuch!
