Home Office Week: The Desks

Richard's Metal Trunk Desk by Restoration Hardware

Now that we've been inspired by some insanely beautiful and insanely organized home work spaces, it's time to focus in on the details. First up: the desk.

There's perhaps nothing more conducive to productivity than a comfortable, well-kept desk, and there are certainly some beauties out there. So many, in fact, that I've divided my picks into four separate categories. Read on to view and shop modern marvels, ornate antiques and everything in between.

THE MODERNISTS

Writing Desk After Fornasetti / Paul Desk by Wintercheck Factory / Falcon Desk by Jonathan Adler

THE TRADITIONALISTS

Whitney Writing Desk / Phillipe Desk by Jayson Home / Regency Writing Table Circa 1810

THE INDUSTRIALISTS

Industrial Glass and Barn Wood Desk by Tim Byrne [via Design You Trust] / Aviator Wing Desk by Restoration Hardware / Silvered Writing Desk by Anthropologie

THE SPACE SAVERS

Patchwork Secretary by West Elm / Wall Desk by Vurv Design / LAX Wall Mounted Desk by MASH Studios

I got a little OCD in my search and found more beautiful desks than I could possibly fit here, so check out my Pinterest board to view them all!

  1. I am more traditionalist when it comes to my space but I love the Aviator wing and trunk designs by RH. Can't wait for the backbay debut! Countdown is on! PS- fingers crossed you make the cake tasting. Where at?

  2. I like the old school wooden ones, but to be honest my apartment is so small I can't wait until I get a bigger one or a house so I can have a real room to use as an office and have a proper desk and a comfy chair. You need to do a post with cool chairs for desks then you'll have the ultimate little mini series.

  3. I know - I thought about including including chairs, but I figured it all comes down to comfort more than design in the end. No that there aren't some beautiful desk chairs out there!
