It's not a real marketing campaign, but it sure would be a great one! Brazilian-born and Dubai-based designer Leo Rosa Borges conceived of this direct mailer for IKEA, mimicking the store's flat-pack furniture with a clever pop-up design.
The idea is to demonstrate how easily IKEA furniture is transformed from flat to finished. Of course, anyone who has spent countless hours with a screwdriver and a set of umlaut-accented directions know the folly of that statement, but it's an imaginative design none the less.
very creative!

They need to hire him to revamp their marketing, stat! This is really clever and fun and unique. And then maybe he can do the instructions that come with the furniture, cause 'um, those suck.
ReplyDeleteyou're right, that is neat!
ReplyDeleteThis is really really cool! To think, if they could customize these?
ReplyDeleteThis is a great way for a designer to get some international coverage. It's also a great way for IKEA to advertise. I'm actually a bit of a fan of flat pack furniture, maybe it's because I used to love Lego as a kid. But I love getting my tools out and building stuff lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd go as far as to say that I enjoy it, but it's such a great feeling when you've finally put something together and it doesn't fall apart! :)
