Happy Hanukkah! Well, that certainly snuck up on me. To celebrate the first night, I'm headed to to my parents' house after work to light the candles and eat some potato latkes. Mmmm... latkes.
While I do have a few things in mind that I'd like Hanukkah Harry to bring me, one of my favorite gifts is something that allows me to give a little back. My parents have made it tradition to give me a check that I can pass on to any charity I choose, and I thought I would get one of you involved this year.
In the comments, tell me which charity you would like to donate to, and I will randomly pick one of you to receive a $25 donation to that charity in your name. You get extra entries for tweeting about the contest. Just leave a separate comment telling me that you've done so, and be sure to include my handle (@WellAppCatwalk).
I'll announce the winner on December 15. Good luck!
okay this might sound crazy, but stray cat alliance!! they rescue, neuter and return for free....plus have saved so many injured cats and found them homes.
ReplyDeletei love this tradition your parents started!!
Happy Hannukah!!
xo,
Carrie

I know you're expecting me to say an animal shelter, but I'm going to say Rosie's Place would be a wonderful place to give to during the holiday season. And Happy Hanukkah!
ReplyDeleteMarissa, I love this idea!! This is possibly the best giveaway I have seen. I mean who needs more STUFF at the holidays. It's better to give than to receive. I would love to donate to "Rosie's Place" and give some women a brighter holiday.

ReplyDeleteHow about the Alzheimer's Foundation of America?
My grandmother passed away this year from the disease, it was terrible to see her mind go like that, and it's a disease that's expected to increase over the next 20 years. Scary stuff.
