I'm a sucker for flea market finds and all things salvaged, and Recreate by Katie Thompson is a phenomenal example of turning trash into treasure. Using pieces of discarded junk, the South African designer creates one-of-a-kind furniture, lighting and home accessories that need to be sold in the States! No word on the prices, but my birthday's coming up (hint, hint!).
