It's no secret that we Bostonians love our Kennedys. With the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy last year came plans for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, dedicated to civic education.
On Wednesday, the institute announced its choice of architect as Rafael Viñoly and unveiled his renderings for the building.
According to the project website:
The Institute will be located on the UMass Boston Campus, adjacent to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. The overall site plan has been designed to work in harmony with the UMass Boston campus, the JFK Library, and the Columbia Point waterfront. The facility will be designed and operated with sustainable practices, and is on track for LEED certification. What do you think? Is this building a worthy addition to our fine city?
It looks pretty slick from these outlines... I've not yet had the fabulous chance to hit Boston yet, but when i do i'll holler!
