I'm going to meet Anna Wintour and Michal Kors! (And Natalia Vodianova, but I'm not quite as psyched about that.)
A phone conversation with my mom last night went something like this:
Mom: The Harris Center for Education and Advocacy in Eating Disorders is having its annual public forum on March 22. Want to go with me?
Me: God no - that sounds awful and depressing!
Mom: Wait! I haven't told you yet who's going to be there - Anna Wintour, Michael Kors and a model named Natalia V...v... something. And we're invited to a private reception before the forum.
Sweet! Dr. Herzog, who runs the Harris Center, is a family friend and is apparently likethis with Ms. Wintour. (Well, I may be exaggerating just a little. I don't think anyone is likethis with Anna Wintour.) In any case, I'll be forcing him to introduce us at the reception.
The forum at 6:00 p.m. is open to the public and is titled Health Matters: Weight and Wellness in the World of Fashion. Any step in the right direction is a huge one for the fashion industry, and it's just nice to see the bigwigs caring enough to work with the Harris Center.

make sure to check your teeth and dress nice...hehehe...omg, you are so lucky!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely green with envy. People can bitch about Anna Wintour all they want, but I think she is pretty damn phenomenal: she's powerful, opinionated and simply doesn't suffer fools, character traits that would be widely lauded if she happened to be male.
